Breaking up is easy (If you don´t care)

Did You Ever Really Love Me?
Is it too much to ask, if these words are our last?
For you to give me an honest answer,
I know it´s over. You know it too..
But I need to know before I go,
Did You Ever Really Love Me?
You stand there like a little boy!
Hands thrust into your pockets,
Head bent down, you stare at the floor,
But I still need to ask the question once more.
I need to know, before I go,
Did you ever really love me?
All the beautiful things you said,
were they just to get me into your bed?
It beggars belief if that be true,
It was so unnecessary !
Girls by the thousands, would´ve taken my place,
and be happy to leave the next morning.
Busy young women, modern in ways,
Enjoy themselves, then get on with their days.
You surely must know that this is the case,
That´s just how life is today.
So why would you need to say you LOVE me,
If lying you were all the way. ?
Please let me know , before I go,
Did you ever really love me?
Was it all a big joke? Was I just a ´fling´?
When you spoke those soft words,
and flowers you´d bring..
You´d hold me so close, like you needed me so,
Can you not tell the truth, just once as I go.?
I need to know , before I go,
Did you ever really love me?
I guess your silence is the answer,
You look like a boy and I was your toy....
Now you are tired of playing.
Be proud of yourself, you spineless wimp,
This episode will come back to bite you.
Don´t raise your eyes, it´s too late now.
I´m leaving and hope you´ll be happy.
Well, NO, that´s my lie, I´m going out the door,
I´ll see you no more,
And truly I don´t give A DAM!!.
SLAM !!!!!!!

It's an old old story that will go on and on. Users and losers....
Hope it didn't happen to you. Happy Valentines Day....
Oh my! Who among us has never been there? Great poetry and definitely human nature at it's most flagrant! I, too enjoyed the "spineless wimp" -- great name calling if it was ever done! Voted up. Best/Sis
Yes, it's strange how there is always this lingering doubt after a break-up - did he really love me, no I mean really-really love me? We all need to feel valued, but sometimes, I think that, at the time that it's going on, people don't even know themselves whether it is love, lust or convenience.
I wrote a poem on this subject too http://www.squidoo.com/teflon-tony-poem
I think this is something most of us have unfortunately experienced!
Great poetry and voted up!
This was quite a hub to read. You captured the anger well. "Slam proof doors", I say. As for Kindle, I also do not have one. there is a free App you can download to your computer that will allow you to read ebooks. And oh, congratulations on your ebook. You missed a chance at a free plug for your book there.
Hi Dim!
I'm so happy you found a lasting love, while you know the subject of your poem is just eating his heart out because he let you go! I've been there too - but we are strong women who live and learn and move on, while they're the ones who just get stuck. Excellent, empowering poem for anyone who's ever been through it. Voted up and awesome!
You captured the moment and created a very clear visual.I think he should of been slapped across the face too. Then that could of crossed the line.So I slapped him in my mind for you.Good luck with the e book. Please e-mail me more details.
This poem flowed very nicely... though the topic was not light of heart. You did an excellent job on it. Two thumbs way up!
A great, breath taking poem. Awesome in fact!

Wow this was mighty powerful piece my friend. These are words that have often been asked by so many of us over the years and relationships we've all experienced. The looking down at the floor, shuffling feet, head bowed and eyes focused on the floor and not on us.
Yes indeed I've been there and experienced it. I've slammed the door and have had it slammed on me as both backs were all we shared when walking out that door. How sad and painful an experience, one I never wished had happened. Yet there are no guarantees with Love, nor is there any in life. Thank you for sharing, I hope this has not happened to you recently and that your relationship is perfectly in tact. Hugs
